TRIA Orthopedic Installs Intellihot Tankless with Other Tanks in Phased Replacement

Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors helped the healthcare facility install an Intellihot iN199 Neuron unit in parallel with two other tank-style water heaters in a phased replacement.

Application Details:

TRIA Orthopedic in Bloomington, MN is supporting patient care and operational excellence with reliable hot water from Intellihot’s advanced water heating technology. The healthcare facility decided to install an Intellihot iN199 to replace a faulty tank-type (non-Intellihot) water heater. Two more iN199 units will replace the remaining tank-type units soon.

The iN199 unit was installed in parallel with the facility’s existing tank-type water heaters. This setup allowed the facility to replace the faulty tank-type water heaters in a phased manner. Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors helped install the unit at the facility.

Intellihot’s units are the only true tankless water heaters that can work in parallel with tank-type water heaters. Non-Intellihot tankless products experience large pressure drop, which allows the water to bypass them as the water finds the path of least resistance. Intellihot’s Neuron Series of water heaters experience the same amount of pressure drop as a standard tank-type water heater, allowing them to be installed alongside tanks.

Such an innovative design allows for commercial properties to transition to a tankless system gradually in case of budget constraints.
