Founded in 2009, after a traditional water heater broke down and flooded our founder’s basement, Intellihot today designs, manufactures, and assembles tankless water heaters for commercial and industrial applications – the first to do so entirely in the United States. Quality and innovation are at the heart of all of our products, which were developed following years of extensive research. We continue to be recognized for our innovative design with multiple awarded and pending patents.
Now part of the Zurn Elkay family, Intellihot proudly contributes towards providing clean water solutions that promote health, support healthy hydration, conserve and protect natural resources and help keep people safe.
Endless Progress - Our Story
- 2009: The breakdown of a traditional water heater in our founder’s basement triggers the founding of Intellihot
- 2009-2014: Intellihot innovates a revolutionary heat exchanger and controls, getting both certified and sets up its factory
- 2014: Intellihot launches the iQ751 and iQ1001: the world’s first modular tankless units with autonomous masterless controls
- 2022: Intellihot expands by moving its corporate headquarters to Vernon Hills, IL in the Greater Chicago Area.
- 2023: Intellihot launches the world’s first tankless heat pump water heater, ushering in a new era of sustainable water heating
- 2026: Zurn Elkay acquires Intellihot, further strengthening the mission to be the provider of clean water solutions.
