Newport Village Apartments Replaces Over 1800 Gallons of DHW Storage with Tankless

Contractor Spotlight: Data HVAC Solutions

Application Details:

Newport Village Apartments in Alexandria, VA is a massive multi-family property with over 900 units. Hence, their decision to replace their DHW system completely was slated to be a massive undertaking. The property’s original hot water system used 6 boilers with a combined heating output of 19,000 MBH (19 million BTUs/hr.) and over 1800 gallons of hot water storage.

Newport Village apartments decided to replace its tank-type water heaters with an on-demand system, and chose Intellihot’s truly commercial tankless products. Four Intellihot iQ1501 units and two Intellihot iQ2001 units were selected for the project, for a combined heating output of 10 million BTUs/hr.
