This busy airport hotel averaged 98% occupancy and desperately needed redundancy in its water heating system. Intellihot’s technology greatly increased their efficiency saving the hotel 65% on gas bills. 

The Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront is a bustling hotel four miles from the SFO airport. Offering views of the San Francisco bay and skyline, it has on-site dining and 11,000 sq feet of event space. Other amenities include a fitness center, an indoor heated pool, and a scenic walking path along the bay.

The Challenge

The hotel was running with a single 10 Million BTU/hr, 80% efficiency steam boiler. Replacing the system would require installing two steam boilers to provide sufficient redundancy. This option proved to be very costly and completely unnecessary.

The Intellihot Solution

Eight iQ1001s were installed for the guest rooms totaling 8 million BTU/hr at 94% efficiency with a turn down ratio of 264:1. Four iQ751s were used for the restaurants, public spaces and meeting facilities. Regardless of demand, Intellihot will always function at peak efficiency; from as low as 30,000 BTU/hr up to the maximum 3,000,000 BTU/hr output.
